Peanut Butter
Allergen: peanuts
Peanut Butter contains a common allergen (peanuts). Current guidelines recommend introducing allergens early (from 6 months) as this may reduce allergy risk. Introduce on its own, offer a small amount first, and wait 2-3 days before introducing another new allergen. Watch for signs of allergic reaction: hives, swelling, vomiting, or difficulty breathing. Consult your pediatrician if your baby is at high risk for allergies.
How to Prepare
Thin with breast milk, formula, or water and spread on toast strips — never give a glob of peanut butter (choking risk). Start with a small amount for first exposure.
