Allergen: sesame

Tahini contains a common allergen (sesame). Current guidelines recommend introducing allergens early (from 6 months) as this may reduce allergy risk. Introduce on its own, offer a small amount first, and wait 2-3 days before introducing another new allergen. Watch for signs of allergic reaction: hives, swelling, vomiting, or difficulty breathing. Consult your pediatrician if your baby is at high risk for allergies.

How to Prepare

Thin with water and drizzle on other foods, or spread thinly on toast. Never offer a thick glob. Can be mixed into purees or yogurt for easy introduction.
