How does Tote differ from the Checklists tool?

Checklists let you mark items as needed by category (hospital bag, nursery, etc.). Tote pulls the items you actually plan to buy into a single shopping list with purchase tracking and running cost estimates.

Do I need an account?

No. Tote works without sign-in using your browser's local storage. When you create a Babysential account later, your items migrate to your private account automatically.

Are price estimates accurate?

Estimates are conservative US averages for common brands. Actual prices vary by retailer, sales, and region. Use the total as a planning aid, not a quote.

Can I add custom items not in the checklists?

The current version supports items from Babysential's official checklists. Custom-item entry is on the roadmap.

Yes. Signed-in lists are protected by Supabase row-level security — only you can read or write your items. We never share or sell shopping data.
